O Come, O Come Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here

The sun showed no mercy

Another week with no clouds in the sky
Only days filled with chains
At Pharaoh's command
The children of God looked to heaven on high

Tell us how long."
Then they'd sing themselves to sleep with this song...
Oh, we are not forgotten
We re ever in God's sight
And He will come to us when the time is right
He will lead us into freedom
And He will lead us into life
And He will come to us when the time is right

I had an interesting insight today as I sang O Come O Come Emmanuel to Micah. (I know...It's too early for Christmas songs. So sue me.) I realized that the Israelites believed and knew with their whole heart and soul that if they cried out to God (and their lives were right), God would hear them and rescue them. They had absolute confidence in this. And since God doesn't change, that means that part of Him hasn't changed either. He absolutely WILL hear us and move and work if we ask Him to. Pretty cool.
