Reconciling the Fallenness of Humanity with a Moral Code
11:26 a.m. || February 07, 2017
There's something that I keep seeing and I'm starting to realize it's one of the biggest hangups people have about Christianity. It's the same old same old and I just keep seeing people talk about it in different ways.
It's simply trying to reconcile the fact that 1) we have a moral code we ought to adhere to and 2) we don't adhere to it.
It's a problem people can't seem to reconcile in their heads. They either condemn others for having a moral code, or they condemn others for not obeying a moral code. They either say "There is no such thing as an absolute moral code" or "You are all hypocrites for not obeying the moral code you believe in."
There IS a moral code, we DO fail, and that's why Jesus and the Cross. How do you get this across to people as a viable way to think about life?
I want to keep thinking this through but I have to go get my son...
