Well... Micah sat with me through Bible study today instead of going to the nursery. He started crying hard and saying, "No no no no no nursery!" when we pulled up into the church parking lot. :( It was heartbreaking. I didn't have the heart to put him in (partly because he is still a bit sick). So the caregiver left after 10-15 minutes because no other kids came. Doesn't look like there will be any kids but Micah from now on either, because the one gal's husband has Mondays off now. (Apparently we switched lives! LOL.)

He did a great job sitting through the Bible study, coloring and playing quietly with a toy car. The people in the study are super welcoming to Micah and comfortable with him sitting with us. Two other gals in the study tell me their kids, when they were little, were exactly the same, so they just didn't put them into child care much. It's all a BIG change from our old church, who are more of the "Ship them off to child care as early and as frequently as possible" mindset and the dumbfounded reactions when they find that we want congregational worship to be a family thing. (To be fair--not every one of the 1200 people at our old church were like that, and a couple families were like us, but by and large this was the response we ran into.)

So anyway, what a predicament. I am totally torn. Sometime in the next month he will HAVE to stay with somebody for a couple days and nights while we are at the hospital and Bible study nursery time was supposed to be practice, but... Now I just don't know. I am going to give the nursery another shot next week, and he HAS to go to a babysitter next Monday while I go to a doctor's appointment, but I am at a total loss as to what we'll do after that.
