Obsession or Depression? Mom Guilt

Capsule wardrobe. It's occupying all my free time.

Is it wrong to want some "me" time when one of my kids is sleeping? Conflict managing wears me out.

But I'm afraid Benji is getting less of a quality of life than Micah did because my attention is so divided.

Right now he's pushing his lawn mower around the yard. It's nice outside. He's barefoot and so am i. There's a breeze blowing. The chimes are ringing. The grass is not as poky as it used to be. There are fewer yellowjackets (but still a couple).

This week we're going apple picking with Heidi.

Today I managed to actually do some preschool with Micah. A for Apple is one of my favorite weeks.

Jessica finally convinced me to repeat the curriculum for Micah's sake. I know she's right.

We worked on counting today. Ho boy. I think he's got it, and then I try something different and where on earth is his brain?

Bubbles. Today would be a good day for bubbles.

The water table is empty. Micah skeeps asking me to put water in it, or play sink or float. I am so over sink or float and water play outside. I know it's still halfway decent weather, but I just can't convince myself to let Micah get all wet. I debate putting sand in it. Then I just wish we had a sand box so I wouldn't have to worry about whether putting sand in the water table was the right thing to do or not.

Benji is hard to figure out. I'm never sure what's going on in his mind. I feel like I knew Micah better or could understand him better. Maybe I just don't remember accurately, LOL. But from the get-go there were things Micah was definitely interested in, like opening and shutting or building/stacking (Benji would rather knock things over). Benji likes to push things around, especially the umbrella stroller (Micah did, too, and still does) and the little lawn mower. He also likes to put things in his mouth (Micah didn't as much). He likes to climb, especially up slides and stairs. He has full-on conversations with me that I don't understand a word of, LOL. He likes to ride the blue and yellow car. I guess he likes gross motor activities, whereas Micah liked fine motor activities. He likes to finger paint and play with squishy things.

What's weird is that Benji doesn't like to jump on pillows like Micah does. That's gross motor. So there are some things I just can't figure out.
