Oh, for grace...
12:56 p.m. || February 02, 2012

Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
And to know, Thus saith the Lord!

Refrain:
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How Ive proved Him oer and oer;
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh, for grace to trust Him more!

Oh, how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me
Neath the healing, cleansing flood!

Yes, tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.

Im so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.

Stephen's family is friends with a family that is losing their mother this week to colon cancer. She's just a few years older than my mom.

She leaves behind four grown daughters and two teenage sons. I'm Facebook friends with her youngest daughter, who also keeps a blog for her on CaringBridge.org.

I've never watched someone die from cancer, but I've been watching Kristine experience it over the last few months and I've been watching all the people who know Rhonda and her family as they post on Kristine's page and the blog, and it is one of the most difficult things I have ever seen. I've heard stories all around me about cancer through prayer requests at church over my whole adult life, but I'm just now beginning to understand why it hurts so bad for those who know and love the one dying.

Kristine's post last night:

Tonight, one-by-one, my siblings and I said "good-night" to Mom as we prepared to go to bed. I was the last, and I told her, "Mom, your children have risen up and called you blessed." (Prov. 31:28) It is very difficult for her to speak, but she said, "Thank you." - These are precious moments.

Oh, for grace to trust Him more.
