DE LA LUNE!!!!
10:40 p.m. || February 17, 2005

I GOT THE JAZZ SOLO IN CHOIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are singing two jazz pieces in choir this semester, "Can't Help Lovin' That Man" and "Return to Music." There's a short solo in Return to Music. I hate, hate, hate volunteering myself to try out for solos... It's so much pressure, 'cause it's like, "Oh, I volunteered, like I think I can sing! I better do well!!" But I have grown more confident in myself since last year and at Jenny's prompting, tried out for the solo, with about 5 other girls.

And I GOT it!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was so stinkin' awesome!! Mr. D in high school was SO choosy about who got the solos in songs. Usually the ones who got it were seniors, Jazz Choir members, and confident when they tried out. I lost out on that last one every time, and only got a solo at the end of last year because I was a senior and it was the last concert.

ANYWAY. Since I don't want to go into too much boring detail, the coolest thing on earth was today when Jayna had two of us who had tried out sing for the solo in class. She picked me first... Then Molly went and then we both sang together. And Jayna said just as simple and as calmly and as whatever that Mr. D never was, "I think I'm going to go ahead and give the solo to Stephanie." AAH!! I GOT A SOLO JUST LIKE THAT!!!!!

I didn't know what to do, and then my manners kicked in and I said politely, "Thank you." Then I sat down and I still didn't know what to do. Jenny and maybe Kelly and Mindy were congratulating me and I was still in shock. LOL. It was so neat... But so hard to take in at first! Wow! Just like that!

It was wonderful.

Okay, that's not my only good news of the day.

I like good news days, don't you?

I got two pictures from one of my kids in field experience today! Aww!! She colored them just for me... And Cassie showed me her drawings, and man! I'm going to get in trouble for getting the kids off task on Tuesday, I know, but aw!! I feel special! :D I hung up Jordan's two pictures in my room. She is really good with colors! That definitely pleased me; I LOVE color. I couldn't help but say to Cassie about her pencil drawings, "They'd look really good colored!" I am a sucker for color. :D I should change my template... (Layout... For those who'd understand that better. Background, for those who need an even simpler term. LOL.)

And then tonight was super fun. (I am even TALKING like a little kid! LOL! Talk about reverting to the old days. :) ) I was a counter for the jump rope competition that was held between the four elementary schools here. I got to see Michael--he is the already-good-looking one :) --and Andrew jump rope. They didn't get any ribbons... :( But it was SO neat to have them recognize me outside of class.

I am in a very happy mood.

"And when it's blue, it means that you should call her up immediately and ask her out, because she'll most likely agree." LOL! I'm blue! I'm blue! ;D

(And if anyone takes that seriously... Okay, you need help.)

Oh, one other fun thing about today and then I'll stop to spare your poor eyes... I need to get to Late Night anyway because I didn't get dinner... I got to the really funny part in Cyrano de Bergerac (did I mention that I'm reading that?) where Cyrano pretends to be mad (crazy) in order to stall de Guiche from forcing Roxane to marry him. :P

"D'o tombe donc cet homme?"
"DE LA LUNE!!!"

LOLOL!!!

Okay, so it's in normal upper and lowercase letters in the book and there's only one exclamation point... But you just don't get the humor if you leave it at that!! :D

Bye all! Off to get me some food...

Oh, I also got my blood drawn for the first time today. It was not as bad as I had feared. YAY!
