What the heck?

Yesterday:

1. Took car in for transmission service. Thought it would be in the $100-200 range. Price: $275, and that was after a small discount.
2. Mechanic doing transmission service rotated tires and discovered big bulge on one tire of the car. We take the car to Les Schwab.
3. On the way to Les Schwab, I run straight through a solidly red light because I can't see over the Albertson's semi in front of me. Possible photo radar ticket.
4. We arrive at Les Schwab, and tire man looks at my tires and says, "These two are cracking, and this one's worn down almost to the wear bar." Fan-tastic.
5. We replace the two cracking tires for $155 (which was a GREAT deal) and hope and pray that the other one lasts out until we can get it replaced, too.
6. Total cost for repairs today: $430.

And after that we went to Dave Ramsey's FPU to learn about financial management.

Today:

1. Our couch breaks.

What in the world is going on here?!

I'm afraid to be thankful for anything else that's not going wrong for fear it'll break, too! My land. I have never in my life had this many financial hits at one time. My teeth were different--after the first one went bad, I pretty much expected the rest to follow suit. This--car stuff--is not something I was paying attention to. :P

Homework this week:

1. Read chapters 14-18 for Dave Ramsey.
2. Read Galatians Study 1.
3. Here's the big one, for my Read-Thru-the-Bible study:

• The rest of Daniel 10-12.
  
• The book of Ezra
  
• The book of Haggai
  
• The book of Zechariah

4. Chapters 2 and 3 of His Needs, Her Needs
5. Find 7 main dish recipes that I think would be fun to cook.
