Back From My Hometown
11:05 p.m. || August 16, 2011

Rawr. Coming back from long trips always makes me cranky.

Oh well. On the bright side, I'm back home. The trip was just a pinch too long this time around. I can only take "Snopes is a liberal left-wing outfit" comments for so long.

Yipes. So glad I'm out of there.

One highlight of the trip was seeing Rhonda and sharing the gospel some more with her. I really think I did a good job letting God work through me instead of relying on my own power and knowledge. Granted, I had to send Stephen away so I could be comfortable in my own style of witnessing (LOL), but Stephen was very good about it and it worked. I was able to talk very fluidly about the Cross and what it really means. And Rhonda is very good about listening and not reacting, which was a great experience. Honestly, I could really learn some lessons from her in that respect. :) She's still very interested and I think I answered a couple of questions that were really deeply rooted in her mind. I'm so glad.

Another highlight of the trip was traveling to a mountain range outside of my hometown. I love the mountains. I just love evergreens and hilly places and giant things I could never conquer that show me how big God is.

Oh, one other part of the trip I liked was driving through fields and fields of golden wheat. Beautiful! That was on my way to see my friend Jenny, which was also good. She's still an absolute sweetheart. I'm sad that I won't see her for two years, but I learned she'll have Internet access, so I'll still be able to keep in contact with her.

I got to see Jenny's parents, too, and they still love me and treat me like family. I LOVE having friends with families like that! :D

Liz's baby shower was fine, not too exciting. It was good to see her, heehee! Steve took some maternity photos that turned out really well. And we had fun just hanging out with them. It sure reminded me of the "good old days" of youth when she and I just did everything together. :)

On a side note, I signed up to become a consultant for the all-natural makeup company I mentioned back here. Eep!! At least it's only a $40 investment so far.

And now I am going to BED. In my wonderful, awesome, soft, cushy, beautiful, independent-spring, pillow-top mattress. Oh, love!!
