STILL SMILING!
4:21 p.m. || May 14, 2012

One of our other neighbors responded to the flowers. They sent their two oldest kiddos (they have three) up to my door, and the oldest, Micah, handed me a folded-up piece of paper. I grinned instantly--and I dearly hope that was enough...Because I didn't open it in front of them, just started to close the door. (I AM SO EMBARRASSED about that!!! I should've opened it up and said "You're welcome." AAH! I'm so dumb sometimes!)

The note was very, very cute. I'm thinking Micah probably wrote it; he probably writes the best English of his family, since he's 6 years old now.

It said:

"Thank you for giving us the beuteful flowers. We aprishiate what you did."

Hee hee!!

At the bottom was the cutest drawing of two stick figures, one of his mother, I'm guessing, and one of him, smiling and pointing to a vase with one flower in it. HAHAHAHA! Oh my gosh, too cute.

I love that family, too. We have great neighbors. God has blessed us abundantly. :)

Soooooooo happy. But Krystal's reaction (the neighbor from yesterday's entry) still completely touches me. She has a very sweet and honest spirit that I just love, and it shines through even despite the language barrier.

Now, how do I spread the Gospel to them? :)

Although, you know, I heard something on the radio today that resonated in my spirit. I have never led anybody to Christ. Yet, I don't hide (anymore) what joy the Lord does bring me, and I do try to explain it to people as I'm given opportunity. And I have this hope that God will use that.

And today on the radio (Stephen has his radio set to a station dedicated to sermons and Bible studies and the like), whoever was speaking talked about giving honor, not to the people that everybody sees (missionaries, evangelists, etc.), but the people who set in motion events that led missionaries and evangelists to become what they are. I feel like I'm one of those set-in-motion types of people, and I am perfectly okay with that role.

Although I would dearly love to hear about the effects of my setting-in-motion. Maybe some day. :)

Afterthought: There's a song by Greg Long of Avalon called "What if I'm 15?" The chorus is this:

If it takes fifteen times
To hear about Jesus
For someone to believe
Wherever I stand in line
I've got to make a difference
In case it comes down to me
'Cause, I may be the third, may be the seventh
There may be years in between
But what if I'm fifteen
What if I'm fifteen

I find that song very encouraging when I do share what the Lord has taught me with people. But I also find it encouraging when I'm third or seventh--because it might take 15 times. But I got to be part of that 15! I like that. :)
