I have named the problem that assaults me and keeps me from growing further in my faith.

The name of the problem is truth vs. love.

I do not pit these against each other myself. I only pit them against each other as a title for what the world around me is doing. They either consider the two concepts to be mutually exclusive or synonymous. I don't believe they are either, or else it would not be necessary or make sense for Paul to include the phrase "speaking the truth in love" in his letter to the Ephesians (4:15).

The only place truth and love can peacefully coexist is in the Cross, where Jesus had to die, because in truth our sins were withholding us from God, but in truth, He did so because He loved us.

I'm still working on understanding this fully, which is why I am still limping in my faith instead of running.
