Forgiveness

This song has been stuck in my head for days: Losing by Tenth Avenue North
The line that's been striking me over and over again this week is in the second verse:
"Still I wrestle with this
To lose the pain that's mine
Seventy times seven times."
To lose the pain that's mine.
That's the hardest truth to accept. When you have been truly wronged, there is truly wrong involved. There is a true "NOT RIGHT!" involved. There is a justice that is not immediately being served.
And according to every shred of worldly wisdom, you have every single right to hold that pain against them until they pay the price and you get your justice.
But the Lord calls us to let go of our right to own our pain, our right to have justice served. God--the creator and ultimate authority on right and wrong--He alone is in charge of doling out ultimate justice. And He will dole it out...Either on the person themselves if they never lay hold of the Cross...Or on Himself if they do.
That's a truth I need to burrow deep down in my heart.
