Afterthoughts of Christmas
11:45 p.m. || December 26, 2007

Christmas was good. I got several things I really wanted--"Live Free or Die Hard" and "Return to Me" on DVD, the final season of Frasier on DVD (I have to get all the other seasons now, of course). I didn't get any clothes except for the ones Sam gave to me as hand-me-downs (or hand-me-ups, since she's my younger sister :) ) but not as a technical Christmas gift. Oh--I did, however, get a pretty significantly loaded gift card to American Eagle from my mom. Yay Mom! :D

Steve's family gave me lots of gifts and I was completely abashed, because all I got them was a box of chocolates. His sister-in-law knitted me a scarf and gave me some perfume and lip gloss. His grandma gave me an angel statuette, a sand dollar ornament, and an Agatha Christie book (how did she know I like Agatha Christie?!). His family as a whole gave me a 675-minute phone card, LOL. I'll be making extensive use of that!

Steve gave me "Return to Me," a silver and amethyst necklace, and "The Swan Princess" on DVD, since my VHS is wearing out. :) And of course, this little silver band with a sparkly white fleck that just won't come off...

::falls off chair laughing::

That's what Isaac called my engagement ring. Oh my goodness, he still cracks me up like none other. :D

I got a lot of small, cheap things from my grandparents. That's okay--they did gift me the car at Thanksgiving, after all... That's a pretty big gift. :)

Anyway... I only got a little bit of Christmas money. I'm not sure what I'll do with it--put it towards my England/Scotland trip that I probably won't be able to go on? That would be the smart thing, although I don't know how much of a dent $100 would make in the $1500 that I owe for the trip. Should I hang onto it so I'll have a little bit of spending money next semester, since I won't have a steady income? That would also be smart. Oh, decisions, decisions!

I called up my youth pastor and asked to meet with him tomorrow. He agreed without asking questions, amazingly. :D I'm going to ask him to officiate my wedding--and how I should go about reserving the church for October 4. And whether or not he's okay with another pastor doing our counseling.

Steve and I had an argument about when I should start wedding planning. I thought I should start it now and he was thinking I shouldn't have to start it until after graduation. We went to my mom to settle the debate. :) Mom agreed with Steve...Grr. But okay. I guess I'll be planning AFTER I graduate. Except I need to reserve places and people (photographer, officiant, videographer, etc.) now, and look at dresses now. Other than that... I'll start in May. Kinda makes me nervous, but Mom agreed, and whatever Mom says goes. She's pretty smart. :)

Okay, and I NEED to go to bed now. Tomorrow is going to be a long day.
