Fall!!!
9:49 p.m. || September 20, 2010

I love the new fall clothes I bought.

I love fall colors.

I bought two long-sleeved V-neck tees, one in dark orange and one in fuchsia. They also had teal and brown. To go with the orange shirt, I bought a light denim-blue, short-sleeved, button-down collared top with red and orange flowers and olive green leaves. LOVE!

With my next paycheck, I'm going to buy another collared, button-down shirt, only it's white with small plum and teal-colored flowers on it. It goes great with the fuchsia shirt!

I also want some cardigans, or some kind of over-shirts that will keep me warm. I'm thinking plum, olive green, or chocolate brown. Or maybe gray. I also like the maize-yellow color.

What's funny about fall colors is that they are the color of FOOD. Ha! Fall food=good memories.

Stephen and I just bought a bunch of apples from a farmer. Stephen's working on a special Stephen recipe: baked apple chips with cinnamon. It makes our house smell AMAZING. I'm going to make an apple pie sometime this fall... Or maybe a pumpkin one. Or both. Or maybe I'll go apple-crazy and make something apple-y every week. :D I know I have to make pumpkin pie and/or pumpkin bread at some point, because Stephen loves that stuff.

It's funny. I've lived here for 2 years now, where it's cold and rainy all winter long, and yet I still do not have the proper cold rainy wardrobe. I still think like someone who lives in the high desert. This is the year that that's going to change. I'm going to save up my dollars and buy a rainproof jacket and some kind of hat to keep the rain off. Or maybe several cute hats. I saw some really cute ones while out shopping today.

AND, this is really cool, I got to work an extra day this week!! So I will have extra dollars come next paycheck! Two Saturdays ago, Georgene (my coworker/supervisor/friend) told me Delylah (my manager) said I could come in on Mondays and help clean flowers. So that's what I did this Monday! :D Four hours of hard work--stripping flowers of superfluous leaves and also stripping roses of thorns. OUCH! I had cloth gardening gloves but I still got poked many times. I stood for the whole four hours, so next time I'm bringing my comfortable tennis shoes. I'm learning that tennis shoes are the best shoes for almost any job, because almost any job involves being on your feet a LOT.

I finally called Darcey and invited her over to our apartment for dinner. God's been poking and prodding at me for weeks to do something to make further contact with her. Boy, I sure hope I did it right. I haven't been following his promptings very well, 'cause it's kind of scary to do stuff you're not used to doing, like talk to random people. Last Sunday Stephen and I didn't go to our home church, we went instead to the other church we attend every once in a while. And both of us felt like we shouldn't have been there, which really sucked. And both of us felt like we should've been at Countryside because of Darcey. So what I mean when I say I hope I did it right, is I hope God isn't going to close this door because of our disobedience. :( But he doesn't often have a history of doing that.... Even the Ninevites finally got witnessed to, despite all Jonah's attempts to avoid it!

Anyway. I think I'm finally getting excited that it's fall. It took a while.

I should go and do my devotions instead of talking about randomness. :)
